RHI Opportunities in a Growing Sector

RHI Opportunities in a Growing Sector

NAPIT are advising installers to take advantage of the industry growth generated through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

Predictions are suggesting that the low carbon heating market could treble by 2017 [1]. Latest research into the UK residential market for low carbon heating products shows that this market will grow from 30,000 installations in 2014 to 90,000 installations in 2017.

Managing Director of NAPIT Certification, David Cowburn, said: Householders are seriously considering renewable heating solutions to combat rising energy bills by switching away from conventional heating systems. The ability to generate income from generating heat overcomes the barrier of the installation costs to such a degree that RHI is proving to be a game changer. During this period installers could take advantage of this growth prediction by making sure they can offer alternative solutions for householders.

If you are an experienced plumbing or heating engineer interested in learning more about the installation of renewable heating technologies, such as heat pumps, the BPEC Heat Pump Systems Installer course, available from NAPIT Training, could be for you. If you are looking to install technologies relating to the RHI you will need to be approved under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for your customers to be eligible for payments. You can find out about becoming an MCS Certified Installer by visiting www.napit.org.uk/schemes/microgeneration-installer If you have any queries or wish to discuss NAPIT membership, email [email protected] or call 0845 5430330.
